The players in the UCT Young Guns (under 20s team) and the Ikey Tigers (senior Varsity Cup team) have delivered exceptional performances to secure places in the Varsity Cup final against the WITS Young Guns and the Stellenbosch Maties on Monday 14th April 2025.

This is a historic moment for UCT Rugby - it is the first time in the university's history that both teams have reached the finals.  It marks a significant milestone for the club and is a proud occasion for the entire UCT community.

The Ikeys played a powerful and convincing game at the semi-final in Pretoria against the Tuks, winning 48-35.  Congrats to IkeyTigers skipper Keagan Blankenberg who lead from the front and steered the Ikeys into their 4th consecutive final! 

We hope to see a sea of blue support in Stellenbosch on Monday 14th April.  This is a wonderful opportunity to back our teams and unite students, staff, alumni and broader stakeholders. Come and be part of the history making event and the unique final Cape Derby of Varsity Cup.
