The UK office hosted alumni and friends at a panel discussion titled, "The Power and Impact of Inclusive Executive Leadership", which took place in London on 9th May. This event was part of a new global series, with similar events taking place around the world. The stage was shared by three inspiring and accomplished UCT alumni who hold senior leadership positions across a variety of industries: Nhlamu Dlomu, Global Head of People at KPMG International, Dr Camilla Kingdon, former President of the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health (RCPCH) and Claire Blackwell, Chief Client and Reputation Officer for St. James's Place.
The phenomenal trio discussed a variety of leadership topics and shared their journeys and personal experiences of different styles of leadership, different experiences across the various industries, highest/ lowest points of their leadership journeys, advice they would offer to the next generation of leaders, overcoming challenges, how to empower and build the next generation of leaders.
Many conversations about these issues continued over drinks, where alumni and friends had the opportunity to connect and network.
The panel discussions revolved around Leadership and the panel's personal experiences - different styles of leadership, different experiences across the various industries, highest/ lowest points of their leadership journeys, advice they would offer to the next generation of leaders, overcoming challenges, how to empower and build the next generation of leaders.
A quote from one of our attendees: ‘What a great event! Hearing these incredible women talk about their careers, the ups and downs and what they have learnt as leaders... Listening to Claire Blackwell, Dr Camilla Kingdon and Nlamu Dlomu openly and honestly share their experiences was inspirational. A good reminder that as female leaders we need to support each other, encourage diversity and champion young talent. So proud to be an alumna!’ #uctalumni
